Dredging International N.V. is a Belgian hydraulic engineering, dredging and offshore contractor with current works under construction on every continent of the globe. The company is specialized in the construction and development of harbours, artificial islands, estuarial dams, canals and inland waterways, dike construction and reinforcement, beach replenishment and coastal protection, supply of dredged aggregates and salvage activities.

Dredging International N.V. was established in 1974 by the concentration of the dredging division of Ackermans & van Haaren, which was founded as early as 1852, and Societe Generale de Dragage. As a result a company was created that has over 100 years of experience and is to be found at top level in the international dredging business.

Middle East Dredging Company (MEDCO), previously operating as QDC, is a fully Qatari registered company established in June 2004. Principal shareholders are Qatari based United Development Company (UDC), Belgium's Dredging and Environmental Marine Engineering (DEME) and the Ministry of Finance, Government of Qatar.

MEDCO specializes in capital dredging works, as part of new or expanded port or land infrastructures and has managed to secure a leading position in this fast growing but highly competitive business. The company has high profile works ongoing in several GCC countries and is continuously building up an extensive local order-book throughout the Gulf region.
