Summary: The utility of water injection dredging (WID) and fluid mud trapping was investigated in the Port of Rotterdam. After WID actions, the sediment trap was surveyed for 3 months. Based on investigations, it can be concluded that the new cost-effective port maintenance strategy is feasible in the ports. This paper will discuss the investigation and subsequent conclusions in detail.
